Sudoku Variants Series (006) - Consecutive Sudoku

(Published on 7. January 2014, 00:00 by Richard)

For this Sudoku Variants Project I have planned to publish a different Sudoku variant every Tuesday. I will see how long it takes before I am running out of ideas.

Consecutive Sudoku
Apply classic sudoku rules. In all cases where two neighbouring cells contain consecutive digits, a circle is placed between those cells.

Solve online in F-Puzzles (thanks danshep!)

Solution code: Row 1, followed by column 8.

Puzzles with traditional old-school rulesets are becoming rarer and rarer.

This one revoked so many good memories doing consecutive sudokus in the past.

Very nice setting!

Reply: thanks! I noticed you found some of the other consecutives as well...
Even after having made over a hundred of these in the past they are still among my favorite types too, and I thankfully include one in most of the championships I write. :-)

This one was a lot of fun, a bit of thinking to open it up, and then it was smooth sailing from there.
