Back to Basics: Chaos Sudoku (C)

(Published on 29. April 2011, 12:00 by Richard)

Place the digits from 1 tot 9 in every row, column and every boldly outlined irregular area.

Solvable without T&E: In this puzzle it is very important to work with extra groups. In the example I have coloured two extra groups, but it gives a few more..

Solution code: Column 3, followed by row 2.

This one was way harder for me than B. I solved B in 30 minutes, this one took me more than 3 hours.

@Richard Sure I will, but I still have no ideas with 277/8/9 und 282/4/7.

@Rollo: I sincerely hope that you will catch up with the missing solves on SVS-puzzles quicker than waiting 9 years with it! ;-)

@Julius: The difficulty-rating (by the people who solved them so far) is almost the same for both puzzles. I don't understand this because here more complicated moves are necessary than in the B-puzzle. I guess the moves here are more obvious. Cells involved in 'pointing pairs' are closer to each other, so they might be easier to recognize...
The valuation of only three stars is completely foolish compared to magazines, where five-star (or red-bullit) chaos sudokus are solvable with hidden and naked singles alone...

Easier to solve but harder to understand than the other one. But a nice one, too.
