German Optimizing Puzzle Championship
The third Open German Optimizing Puzzle Championship will take place in March 2009. All you need for participation (for example instructions, the puzzles and the answer page) can be found on this web site.
Logic puzzles (like sudoku) usually have only one correct answer. Optimizing puzzles are different. Far from it: "optimizers" have a lot of answers. The challenge is to find the best possible one. Of course it depends on the very problem itself whether an answer can be called a good one. A tricky maze for example might ask for the shortest way possible.
This year the Optimizing Puzzle Championship consists of 5 rounds with various duration and with various conditions. The details can be found in the Schedule. Further Informations to the puzzles you find in the booklets on the site news. Your task is to find your best answer in the stated time. In the end there will be certificates and champions' cups for the best participa nts.
This championship is an open championship. This means: participation is open to puzzle solvers from all over the world. If you want to participate you have to register once.
After each round the reached points of all participants will be published in the ranking. The best answer of each puzzle will be posted as well. After the championship the prizes will be sent to the winners.
The championship is organized and realized by Logic Masters Deutschland e.V., the German association for logic puzzles. Its aim is to make logic puzzles more popular throughout Germany.
